| Measuring for Inside Mounts
Inside mount blinds are installed inside the window casing.
The window must be at least 3/4" deep for inside mount
blinds.
- Measure the exact inside width of window casing from one inside edge
to the other in three different places. Record the
narrowest measurement.
- Measure the exact height in three different places from
the top edge of opening to top of sill.
- Do not take deductions. Allowances are made at the
factory to ensure a perfect fit.
- Always round down to the nearest 1/8".
- Measure the window on the diagonal. If the two diagonal
dimensions are not exactly the same, it may be more appropriate to specify
an outside mount shade for optimal light control and privacy.
- Order the narrowest width measurement and the shortest height
measurement.
- Be sure the window opening is deep enough to install the
mounting bracket.

Measuring for Outside Mounts
- Measure the exact width to be covered. Be sure the
measurement overlaps the window by at least 2" on each side (4"
total overlap) to ensure light control and privacy.
- Measure the exact height to be covered, including desired
overlap (Typically from top edge of molding to bottom edge, or to sill
if there is one).
- The factory makes no allowances on outside mount.
- When measuring the height, take into account the requirements for
mounting the bracket attachment.
